Recommended Reading – “23 Signs That You’re A Highly Sensitive Person”
Most souls that chose to wake up to their divine truth in this lifetime also came in with an enhanced sensitivity that can feel as much a burden as a blessing at times. I often refer to those of us that have this highly-tuned sensitivity as “Emotional Empaths”.
A dear friend and colleague of mine, Edward Mills, who is a well-respected spiritual coach and speaker, shared with me a blog about Emotional Empaths that he just recently re-posted because it has received SO much attention since he originally wrote it some years ago.
In Edward’s blog, he uses the term “Highly Sensitive Person” (or HSP) to describe a Emotional Empath, which was coined by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D. and was explored in her book, The Highly Sensitive Person: How To Thrive When The World Overwhelms You.
If you think you are likely an emotional empath (or HSP), then I would recommend taking a bit of time to read through Edward’s blog entry on this subject. It will likely be an insightful look into your own life as an empath and can be a wonderful resource you can provide to others who you suspect may be empaths themselves.
(I also have written quite a few other blogs on support tips for empaths. If you are wanting more support in navigating life as an empath or HSP, I would recommend taking some time to read through the blog section of my website to see what resonates with you. That being said, here are a few I would recommend starting with: Awakening Support Tips, The Hazards of Awakening and a whole series of blogs on Centering Techniques.
